Weekend Wrap Up

You can beat me now... I forgot my camera all weekend.. *sigh*

Rewind to Friday evening.... we met friends for dinner at a new Korean restaurant. Way too much food! Although it was all very good. After dinner we headed over to H-Mart (the Asian grocery store) and got pastries from the bakery in their little food court area and sat around talking some more. The time flew by fast, had such a good time!

Saturday, I got up early and went grocery shopping. Safeway had coupons for free breakfast (English muffins, eggs, bacon, and OJ) with a $50 purchase. They also had Kohl's cash $10 for every $50 you spent. After I got everything put away. I headed down to Kent Station and did some clothes shopping with the b-day money my Mother-in-Law sent me. Christopher and Banks had 40% off the entire store. Their website isn't very good so I can't post pics, but I will try to post pics of the outfits as I wear them. Yeah, outfits...minus pants/skirts. I've decided no more buying sweaters or jackets without shirts in hopes of having something at home or finding something later to go with it. Most of what I buy is for work anyways, so I want to be able to just grab something in the morning and not have to worry about anything. After the shopping I met up with three friends and had lunch at Mama Stortini's a new restaurant at Kent Station that we all wanted to try out. I had a cup of Minestrone soup and a half Chicken & Pear Salad (with Maple Vinaigrette, Tender grilled chicken breast, mixed greens, sliced fresh, pear and candied walnuts tossed with maple vinaigrette, topped with Maytag blue cheese crumbles). Yum! After lunch I headed home to get the roast in the oven for dinner with my family and to get the Halloween decorations down. Yeah, I am a bit behind. Anyhow, it was my first time cooking a roast in the oven rather than a crock pot and it turned out perfect! We had the roast, fried spaghetti (old family recipe), salad, and rolls. My niece and her friend had hotdogs and were soo funny because I had set the table with my good China and crystal glasses. They couldn't believe I was going to let them eat hotdogs on that. LOL! After dinner I opened gifts from my family. I was shocked that my mom got me 6 rolls of refills for my ATG!! Woohoo!! We had dessert after gifts, my brother and sister-in-law brought me a cake and they also brought a chocolate crème pie. Mmmm... good stuff. My niece and her friend played Outdoor Challenge on the Wii while the rest of us sat around and talked. When my mom and her boyfriend left, we discovered that there was a truck parked in the middle of the road with the headlights on and front driver door open. As we got closer we saw the driver had his feet on the door and was lounged back in the driver's seat. After a few questions it was obvious he was drunk/high so we called the police. What an end to the evening!

Sunday was a quiet day. My mother-in-law still wasn't feeling well... so we stayed home. I watched the rest of season 4 of "Grey's Anatomy". When the hubby got up we had lunch and watched "Wanted", but I ended up falling asleep. Then I did laundry and some house stuff. Made French dips with provolone, fries, and Mandarin orange slices for dinner. Then watched "V" from last week. It was a lazy quiet day.

So how was your weekend? What did you do?

It sounds like you had an awesome weekend (can't believe you forgot your camera though!) haha And the drunk driver? Too funny!! I'm looking forward to seeing some pics when you post them. I haven't done a roast in the oven for years since I discovered the old crock pot, too funny! Crock pots are the cat's ass!! I've been giving mine a work out this past week!
