The Birthday Scoop

Mt Rainier on the morning of my birthday... taken while waiting on the bus

Mt Rainier

The hubby picked me up at noon on Wednesday... here I am ready to leave work!

Happy Birthday Me

We went to meet some friends for lunch at Blue Moon Burgers.  Ended up running into another friend who just happened to be having lunch there as well.

I had the... BLUE HAWAIIAN BURGER:  Topped with our thick teriyaki glaze, pepper jack cheese, a grilled pineapple ring, fresh lettuce, tomato, sweet red onions, pickles.  Mmmm good!

After the burgers we said goodbye to our friends and the hubby and I explored the 3 story antique liquidators.  It was mostly furniture, but I did walk away with a Japanese silk scarf that was already marked down 50% plus they gave me a bday discount making it a whopping $3!  It's a silvery grey color with a black print and I just love it!

Then we headed up north to Alderwood Mall so I could get my boots (pictured in my previous post).  It was one of those buy one get one 1/2 price sales, so I also got a cute pair of Born Mary Jane style shoes in a copper color.

I picked up this necklace at Forever 21

and a pair of silver hoops to go with.  We walked through the mall and made a stop at Jamba Juice where the hubby introduced me to a new snack.  Salt and Peper Pistachios.  Mmm.... addictive!
Then we drove back south the Renton for dinner at the Red House.  We had..

And since we were stuffed, they packed up my free tiramisu dessert and sent it home with us.  At home I found a birthday package from the hubby's aunt. She sent me a cute purple top and a vest.  I went to bed and the hubby made brownies for me to take to work the next day (Thursday).  Such a great day!

Yesterday, I came home to several birthday cards in the mail and a nice plump package from the one and only Beth Perry she sent me a bag of embellishment goodies and I do mean GOODIES!!  Soo much fun stuff!  And one of her rosette brooches which I immediately put on and took a pic of!  I wore it to work today as well and have had tons of compliments on it!  Thank you BP. Love you girl!

Tonight we are trying out a new Korean Restaurant with some friends. Yay! Saturday I am going to lunch with a few girlfriends and then my family is coming over for dinner. Sunday I think we are finally catching up with the in-laws if my mother-in-law is doing better. She started a second round of medication on Wednesday. This time they put her on something stronger.

What are your weekend plans?!?

FUN STUFF!!

Think you'll be free to celebrate your b-day next weekend? Gwen will be at Aaron's and I should have some energy back by then (I actually took out the garbage and did a load of laundry today and it about KILLED me - my legs were shaking like I'd run 20 miles and I passed out on the couch for a good two hour nap. Totally pathetic - but I think I ought to be stronger by next weekend. Hell, I'd BETTER be better or I'll be really TICKED!)

Sounds like a fabulous birthday. What a great black and white photo of you two. Beautiful brooch too.

My weekend plans are work (bookkeeping), my son's basketball and soccer games, and a little scrapping time. I'm also hoping to fit in the Michael Jackson movie.

Have a great weekend :o)
